Driving Force School of Motoring Terms and Conditions
All pupil's personal data and their records are stored and secure. All are compliant with Data protection and GDPR laws as I am registered with Information Commissioner's Office, Reg number C1464722.
It is a Legal Requirement for all candidates wanting to learn to drive to have in their possession a provisional or full UK driver's license. Lessons cannot be undertaken if the candidate does not possess a provisional license or full UK driver's license as this is a criminal offense. All candidates must provide a view my licence code to enable a digital online check to be made before their first lesson, in addition they must present their license to me upon first driving lesson. Any candidate who can not or does not produce their license on their first driving lesson will be charged for that lesson in full even though the lesson will be terminated at this point.
Each lesson booked will last for a minimum of two hours from when I arrive at the pupil/client's address on the pre-arranged/booked appointment time.
The pupil may be permitted to use the training car for their driving test, only if I, as your driving instructor, are satisfied that you, the pupil is at the required standard, if I deem that you are not ready I will advise on delaying the test, (which requires 3 working days notice by DVSA in order not to lose your test fee) The length of time required for a test is usually 2 hrs, but is dependant on the distance to the test centre so could be longer. This cost covers the use of the car for the test and training before test time and being driven home.
Payment for the lessons is due at the beginning of the lesson, and can be either made by cash or bank transfer. Failure to do so results in any future bookings in the diary being deleted.
Should you need me to to source your driving test the test fee and admin price will be payable by yourself to me.
After you have completed your lessons and test then all personal date that I hold will be destroyed by myself to ensure strict GDPR compliance.
Strict cancellation conditions
Pupils must ensure that TWO CLEAR WORKING DAYS is given to their Instructor for cancellation or rearrangement of lessons.
Working days for me are Tuesday to Saturday inclusive, my working times are 8am - 7pm. Any communications received outside of these times will be answered the next working day as and when time allows.
If Cancellation is made for any reason within the two working day period e.g. less than forty-eight hours notice, then the pupil will be charged for the full amount of the lesson booked. This is enforced by me as short notice cancellations leave me with gaps in my diary and loss of earnings.
If a client fails to turn up to a driving lesson and gives no notice via phone or email cancelling, that lesson/course day will be charged in full.
If a client fails to meet me, the instructor of the scheduled booked lesson, that time will be deducted from the remaining duration of your lesson/Course and you will be charged in full for your booked appointment. Please remember, you, the Client are paying for me, the instructor to teach you to learn to drive, and are reserving specific start and finish time's in the instructors scheduled working diary.
Where I, the instructor, may arrive slightly late for a lesson due to circumstances beyond his/her control, then I will make efforts to extend the finish time off the lesson by the same amount of time or add the time on to a future lesson.
The pupil must not be under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication which may affect their driving. If a pupil is suspected of being under the influence I as your instructor reserves the right for my safety and that of other road users to cancel the lesson. In doing so the lesson cancelled will be charged at the full rate of the hours booked.
Traffic offences including speeding fines and penalty points - When learning to drive at any time on public roads the driver (pupil) is responsible for any traffic offences and fines, along with points which will be added to their provisional/full driving licence when an offence has been committed. I am not responsible for any traffic offences whilst the pupil is driving on a lesson or driving test unless I was driving at the time of the offence.
On occasions if I am ill and not able to perform my duties, I may have to re-arrange a training session/driving lesson, I will rearrange the cancelled lesson/training session to a later date convenient to both the clients and my diaries.
All pupils can expect me, the driving instructor to be waiting outside in a suitable safe place, I am unlikely to knock on doors and to keep contacting the pupil if a pupil doesn't show. I the driving instructor will wait for approximately 15 mins from the lesson start time before driving away unless I am contacted by the pupil within this time. Any pupils who fail to show on any booked lesson will be charged the full lesson price.
My car is regularly maintained to ensure safety whilst learning to drive. I need to protect and take care of the vehicle at all times. All pupils will be made aware of any possible damage that they could cause whilst learning to drive, this is for safety whilst learning to drive along with avoiding unnecessary repair cost, for example: How to use the clutch correctly. Anyone who is not prepared to listen to me and/or causes unnecessary damage to the vehicle will be charged for the full repair to the vehicle
I have a Zero Tolerance policy. Any customers who become threatening, abusive, violent or harassing to myself, will be reported to the police. Their lesson and all future lesson's with myself will be terminated.
Whilst I try my best to get you test ready and pass, I can not guarantee you will be test ready within a precise period as everyone learns at a different pace. If you need additional lessons these are charged at normal lesson rate.
