Hints on dealing with Roundabouts

Turning right at a Roundabout

When turning right, unless road signs or road markings indicate different:   Check your mirrors on the approach, Indicate right, and as long as clear move into the right hand lane if there are multiple lanes. Keep right hand indicator on to let other road users know your intention, if it is clear from your right, proceed onto the roundabout, if not hold at the dotted line, when clear of traffic from the right proceed onto the roundabout, still indicating right, keeping close to the centre of the roundabout as you go round then as in the clip below, as you pass the exit before the one you want, check all mirrors, especially your left hand mirror and glance if required to ensure there are no cars in your blind spot.  As long as clear, indicate left and still checking your mirrors move the car over to the left and follow the road round exiting onto the new road keeping left. Ensure you make a mirror check once on the new road.

Going ahead at a Roundabout

On the approach check mirrors, and unless road signage or markings say different select the left hand lane, check and see if the roundabout is clear, if it is you can proceed straight onto the roundabout, if not clear stop at the dotted give way line and wait for any traffic approaching from the right, once on the roundabout keep to the left as there maybe cars in the right hand lane, as you pass the exit before the exit you need check your mirrors and indicate left, still keeping to the left of the roundabout, follow round to your exit once on the new road perform another mirror check and accelerate up to the speed limit if its clear to do so.
